steering wheel doesn't reset

Hey guys and gals does anyone know why my steering wheel doesn't move after I remove the key from the ignition, I've tried setting the location with the cancel button in and out can anyone help me with this problem....

Clean out the ignition keyhole with compressed air. How's your key look? Are the edges rounded from use/age? A new aftermarket key solved my issues.

I've tried to clean the ignition and I also tried to reset the memory but nothing work do you have any other suggestions

What car is this for?

So you are saying that once you remove the key from the ignition, you cannot turn the steering wheel, correct?

You've done the easy stuff now you're going to have to remove the steering column shroud and possibly the trim under it to find the 2 slide potentiometers, one for tilt, one for telescope, and clean them with compressed air or electrical contact cleaner. I didn't have to go this far in getting mine to work so I can't tell you exactly where they're located.

Did you try a fresh key?

This is for a 94 Q45 and the steering wheel and the seat doesn't retract after key is removed or does it set to position when key is inserted

I haven't tried a fresh key yet but I will try to clean the potentiometer

there is a cancel button for auto drive pos. the button is located next to the tilt sw, be sure the adp is not cancelled, also there is a tsb for adp not working. if the seat memory buttons are flashing, replace bcm.
