My Pathy did not come with the Bose audio system, so I do not have the left side steering wheel controls (volume up/down, seek up/down, mode). I would really like to add a set since they are pretty cheap from CourtesyParts.com. My only concern is if the wiring is already there. I know Nissan likes to pre-wire everything, but I have not checked yet and I'm hoping somebody else can help me.

My second concern is a unit called the steering wheel receiver control switch. The steering wheel switch data wire runs to this unit and this unit decodes the button pressed and sends the corresponding button press to the audio head unit. This is a unit which the manual says is somewhere under the radio or maybe behind the driver side knee trim (next to ECM?). The wire routing diagram is very unclear and difficult to read. I am not sure if my vehicle would have this unit, since it did not come with the steering wheel controls.

If anybody has any insight on this, please please PLEASE let me know, I would love to add steering wheel controls.

P.S. If anybody has a factory manual and would be willing to check on my location, the wire routing diagram is on page EL-522. The wiring harness for the steering wheel receiver control switch is M41 which is in the D4 "quadrant".
