I am going to be buying a new after market head unit (alpine cda-9883) and wanted to preserve my steering wheel controls. I understand that an adapter must be purchased (PAC, scosche, etc.) I have found a few different types that are compatible with my new alpine head unit but did not know which ones worked the best. I wanted to know if anyone has installed these adapters and can atest to their functionality with either an alpine head unit or a nissan/infiniti system.

I just started reading about them myself. Maybe call the dealers of these adapters and see what they have to say. Scosche has a fairly decent reputation and should be willing to assist with some useful information.

ya but it seems crutchfield recommends the PAC one which of course costs around $60. I would definitely like having steering wheel controls but its funny how much it will cost you. I am sure all of them will work to an extent but I think it also depends on who makes your after market head unit
