Steering wheel control lamps?

I own a Pathfinder 2001 SE.

I notice the Sound system and Cruise controls buttons on the steering wheel are not illuminated.

I searched trough the forum and Google for an answer to this with no success.

My question is: Are there suppose to be lights in those controls or not?
