steering wheel audio controls?

i have an 06 m35x... I came out of an 04 maxima... which to me are very similar... however the steering wheel audio controls in my maxima made sense... if i shift up then the station or song goes to a higher station

in the m35x its different

always confuses me... I was wondering if its supposed to be like this or if this is some bad wiring

I went through the same thing after buying my car. Specially with the volume controls. The volume buttons just aren't as... easy... as they were in my previous car. You'll get used to it, but you wont use the steering wheel controls as much as you did before. Thats been my experience.
