What he means by notching, is to mark the turbo elbow where the steering shaft is hitting it. Then cut that section and a little more out of the turbo elbow. Then weld in a U-bent piece of metal. Now, what I mean by U-bent is that the U bends inside the pipe. _____/****\_____ That section where the *'s are located is the notch and this allows the steering shaft to go through that area.

Or you can take it out and pound the living hell out of it with a hammer. But be careful that you don't puncture the pipe and have to have it welded.

Take the elbow off and look where the rubbing is happening. Then just grind her down some. I used a grinder on the stock one and then threw some paint over the grind. Solved.

Use an air-powered die grinder with a carbide bit and take off about 1/16th of an inch or less.

Doesn't the fact that its cast iron cause a bit of a problem with this?

while its typicaly a no-no welding to cast iron its more of the fact that it creates a huge restriction.

Yes mine is way restrict, but you should have seen the hole that was there from where it was grinded so thin that the steering shaft rubbed through it. So it was a temp. fix.

I know have a AM pipe, haven't installed it. So does that mean with the new elbow pipe/test pipe/ exhaust and FMIC I should feel a difference in power.

Want to try and do a dyno before and after.
