In my 95' Q the automatic steering wheel and seat ajustment for when you get in the car, stopped working today. The lights on the switches on the door, that is used to set the use of this function are flashing. I took a look to see if any fuses were blown, they were not. I looked in the owner manual and it said if the lightes are flashing.........take you car to the dealer.

My question is, as anyone had the same problem or know how to fix it? Or does it have to go to the dealer? :(

Well, the Q has a self diagnosis for the automatic drive positioner..... When it is flashing that means there is a circuit bad..... Email me, and Ill email you the page out of the service manual....... Then you can post the results.....

The reason they say it has to go to the dealer is they want you to hook it up to a consult to see the problem...... Which is the easiest way, but not the cheapest..... You will get the same information from the self diagnosis....

Try disconnecting the battery for a while and then follow the instructions in this thread... it's worth a try!

As I told elwesso, this is best site out there, for whatever you need at the time you may need it. The people behind the scenes and across the USA and around the world are the greatest (something hard to find, people that care).

Thanks for the heads up and the input.;)

Glad to hear that it worked! This seems to be more of a problem with the 94-96Q than the older ones... I'm not sure what changed, but having that reset procedure sure helps.

Q451990,

I sorry I gave you the wrong impression; I have not been able to get the positioner to work??????I took a shot.....on other note; if I keep driving the Q will it hurt anything besides my legs when I get in and out? Thanks for the info again!!!!!!!! By the way I tried the seup about ten times. I guess I will have to take it to the dealer after all. Unless there is something else I can try. I did notice that if push all three buttons the lights stop flashing, is this good or bad, or DO NOT DO THIS?????????

Oh well - can't solve all of the world's problems from my desk :D

You might drive it for a few days and see if the problem fixes itself - I've heard of that happening with this particular system too. I shouldn't harm anything to drive it without this working...
