steering ratio-j30-possible to upgrade

hey Q45 tech.i got one.is there a way to make the steering wheel 2 1/2 turns side to side rather than 3 1/2..on my chevy id change gearbox.on the j iv not a clue.after almost 4 years with nico im a pop charger?just joking

We are thinking on it but the solenoid pack is in a different position between the two. The best way would be to get a used 90-93 Q rack from junkyard [first to minimize cost] then trial fit it assuming the input [steering shaft] can be made to line up; a TT 300zx rack is more similar.The only similiar thing we have done is the converse adding more turns to a 91 Q with a 94 Q rack by mistake.

well update tech.the most unbelievable thing happened today.i havnt been able to work on the car lately,wellfor a while.so my son in law thought he would help me.man,he bought me a front steering rack new.man.only problem-Q-45-96-2000 model year.seems like fire under my butt to get it done now.what the heck.i told him,wrong one.lol.my question i guess,will the tt rack reduce by one turn and bolt up.never mind the ends,i will have that done n.p...or would you still say try the 90-93 rack.so i guess the body would need to bolt up and the steering deal line up.boy ,that was an apifany,lol.sorry.you get it i hope,lol.or since this post would you have a different one.or maybe ya got a couple laying around to match up.i would be so greafull.thanks tech.you da man.diamond

ahhhh,got a 92 rack now.forward i march into new lands.lol.when i get some energy.arghhhhhhh
