steering rack

I finally got my car back from the shop after blowing my last motor. one problem i didn't get fixed was the steering rack. the guy said it leaks really bad on one side. my ? is do i get him to rebuild it or do i buy a new one? i'm not to sure which is cost effective.

Neither. Most cost effective is getting a used one in a junkyard or buy it off someone selling it in the classifieds. For reference, a rebuilt steering rack goes for 300 on frsport.com
