my car has recently started having some major wheel wobbel above 60mph. It feels like one of the front wheels is disconnected from the other and is just going wherever it wants. the only other way to describe it would be like when you get a shopping cart and start pusing it to fast you always get that one wheel on the front thats flipping back and forth.

So I took a look at my steering components today and the driver side seems to be tight. but the passenger side tie rod end feels like it has some play in it. not only that but the rubber boot on the passenger side that covers the steering rack is all torn to shreds. So anyone got thoughts? and how hard is it to change the steering rack? Thanks guys!

from what I have seen its outer. inner seems to be tight but when im driving above 60mph it feels like there is alot more movement than what I have felt coming from the passenger side outter tie rod

probably a combo of the rack bushings, tie rods, control arm bushings and ball joints.

my GLE [227k] has a small steering wander at 80+ mph. new inner and outer tie rods on both sides helped a little, but i have to finish the rest of the suspension before it will be tight again.

i need a new rack due to the wear of age and mileage. i can shake the wheel 2" at speed and have nearly no effect on the car.
