What kind of car is it?
You could either jack it up and start the car up, or put it on a lift and monitor the leak while the engine is running (clean the area off, see how quickly the fluid leaks) while turning the wheel side to side.
OR, just keep an eye on your fluid level and monitor how quickly it drops. I always advocate going to a private mechanic shop over a dealer too. They can tell you if its something that can be repaired without swapping the entire rack and pinion.
