Done a search and only found 2 posts with any relevant info.

1994 Q45 209k miles.

Went in for alignment and was told the retainer mounts (rack bushings) are bad and will cause the alignment to go out of wack until replaced. no play in the steering though.

Got the bushings in from IOS, but I know this can't be as easy as replacing them on a 240.Any write ups on this?

Would the polyurethane bushings get the steering feeling close to a old BMW?

I don't know if you have driven one (I hav'nt) But a freind of mine says the old BMW's steering felt like you were actually feeling what the tire felt. its hard to explain.

I think the G50 PS is much better than any BMW PS. Remember, BMW is using MacPherson struts.

My only advice on replacement is to disconnect the u-joint that connects the rack to the steering column. I struggled like crazy replacing these on my first Q, and then figured it out the second time around on my current one. It's a good time to check for binding and issues with the u-joint.

I think i loosened the bolt on the steering ujoint so the rack would move a bit more. Rack bushing are easy compared to some other Q repairs.

Are the SPL steering rack bushings: http://splparts.com/store/product-info.php?pid97.html a direct fit for the 1990-1996 (G50) Infiniti Q45 steering rack?

I mean no disrespect but I don't want to pay return shipping.

If the picture is an acurate representation, then no... they are much thinner with a larger diameter hole in the middle.

Same as Z32 bushings.
