1. The boots protect the rods from dust and debris so you should replace them probably because your old boots will be torn or worn out.2. The boots are pretty much the same no matter who you get them from. Some are just slightly cheaper in price.3. The boots just slide on over the rods, I don't know about aftermarket ties but I got new OEM rods and they were pregreased.4. If you're still driving on your original steering rack bushings then you should replace them, it makes a big difference in steering feel when you change them out with new stiffer bushings zerothread?id=215877Black R wrote:Like the topic says, I am having a bad steering shake and have replaced the tension/ caster rods with TEIN adjustables.
This hasn't completely cured my issue of wobbling and vibration in the steering wheel when driving on the highway.
So I have also purchased TEIN inner and outer tie rods.
Now I have some questions:
1. Will I need to put boots on the tein outer tie rods, (because they are spherical bearings) or are they ok to be exposed?
2. The steering rack boots are torn, so I will need to replace those at the same time..... Should I just buy them from nissan, or is there something that lasts better, such as a NAPA part or etc?
3. What will I need, or what process is there to replace the steering rack boots? I assume I'll need some sort of grease for this as well?
4. Someone suggested I replace the bushings on the steering rack. They don't appear to have any issue, but should I do this also?
Thanks in advance!
These are Tein tie rod ends and they look just like stock ones. Nothing's exposed, so nothing to worry about.Black R wrote:1. Will I need to put boots on the tein outer tie rods, (because they are spherical bearings) or are they ok to be exposed?
