I have posted to several of the other post on the ongoing problem with the steering issues. I was told the other day that they would not fix the car, both from my local Infiniti Dealer and from Infiniti Consumer affiars. I was wondering if anyone else has given up and sold there cars due to this. I have spent more money on tires, gas for trips to the dealership, time off of work, and just plain pain in the butt problems with Infiniti. I have to drive 85 miles to my closet dealership to have them drive the car for 10 minutes each time and then say the same thing. IT IS NORMAL DRIVING FOR A M35X. SOOOO TIRED OF THIS. Anyone have any ideas to push this further. I am at a lost for words for Infiniti and there customer service. I have never seen a dealership tell a customer that we are not going to fix your car, even though it is still under warranty.

Biggie!!

Hang in there man!! I've been in constant contact with Infiniti Consumer Affairs and they just received a part from Japan that may be what we need!! It's in the test phase right now. Should have an answer after I return from my vacation in San Diego next week. If I can't give any postive feedback after April 6th, then @$@@ it and trade it in for a sport like me. Life is too short!!

Please by all means if you or someone else has any information on the steering problems please contact me. I have tried everything to get them to fix the problems and all I hear is NO. What is the magical part that you were talking about for the steering problems. I have read that some have funny noises and some just have unsafe steering control like mine.

I have had two sets of tires and both after about 3000 miles start the same thing, Jumpy uncotralable steering. You can not hold this car on the road. I have the Conti tires on the car now. Thanks for the advice.

Not sure of the part yet, but in a few weeks I will be sure to post both a positive and negative response on this matter.

Yes the tires were good at first then they start the all over the road thing again after they break in. Theres no way i can buy new tires every 2 months at 900 a pop. lol. Thanks for suggestion. I guess I will trade the car for a Lexus is 250/350 or maybe a IS-F if the price is right and the car is clean. I am very picky on used cars.

SO I can understand your desire to buy a Lexus as your next car. So the dalerships says this is normal, have you spoken to the regional managers? What state to do you live in? if you were in Cali you could lemon this car with the help of the state laws. Trust me, a lemon would get your WAY more $$ than selling the car.

If you really think this car is toast than trade it in, do NOT sell to a private party...you take a hit but the stealership that trades it in will not look twice at a late model Infiniti and than it will be there problem. i woudl even say to Infiniti dealership, okay so this car is perfect, great, I would like a great trade in for it on a 2009 M35, the new one with 300+ horse and 7 speed, and NO 4wheel drive. They should give you top dollar if they say all is well...

I have spoken to every person from the first line mechanic to the owner of the dealership, to the regional manager. I have also spoken with Infiniti Consumer Affairs office several times. Becasue the shop floor mechanic claimed that the problem was normal for the M35X that there was not a problem with the steering on the car. I bought the car from a local car lot, they only had the car 5 days. I even spoke to the original owner. He was an older gentleman that basiclly never drove the car. The car was practiclly brand new with 28000 miles. it still had the factory tires on it. There was still plastic in the trunk of the car. I have all previous documents from the original owner. I cant blame the previous owner or the dealership because the problem is just that the car has something wrong with the steering. others have had parts replaced but for some reason my dealership will not fix nothing. didnt even put it on a rack and look under it. In Arkansas you cant file a lemon law on a used car, only on new cars. I looked at other cars last weekend and there is nothing out there that has the same amount of options or power that fits me and or my family. I guess i will try to continue with the BBB and the NHSTA and see if they can get it fixed for me. All I would like to have done is the steering problem fixed. I just wonder if anyone has put a steering stabilizer on a M35X, or even if it is possible.

Hello I am a 10 year infiniti tech. As of right now with the steering rack noise there is no real fix but our tech line and nissan are investigating the issue. They said once there's a real fix they will be issueing a bulletin until then to tell clients to hang on. as with the problem with the car all over the road we've been putting on Michelin primacys which on one client 30,000 and there still happy with no issues. Hope this helps

The only viable solution is to report the problem to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. If enough drivers do so, NHTSA will force Infiniti to issue either a TSB or a recall.

infiniti is going to be issuing a bulletin ( itb ) on the issue once they come up with a fix. They are already in the process of fixing it now.

This has been going on for how long now????Are you telling me it takes Infiniti several years to come up with a fix??? Wow, they are intelligent! A swap to different tires should not be the customer's responsibility to correct a mechanical flaw. Those Michelins you recommend are hardly a performance tire in my opinion. Yes, they give them a H and V rating, but the tire is very rounded on the shoulders and narrow looking compared to most other tires of the same size.I'm sure they ride great because they a very good tire. It is still a cover up for the actual car's problem.

Infiniti is losing customers and their products are the cause! If it isn't this tramlining issue, then it's the noise issue in the driveline on the M35X models. If you own the M45, you get the tramlining as well and a possible 4.5L engine that burns oil and blows blue smoke out the tail pipes!

Infiniti really needs to go back to the drawing board and start over!Their buyers are very few, their resale value is horrible, fuel economy is horrible, and their low quality products are to blame!

Infiniti customers are getting the short end of the stick. I will not be buying an Infiniti product ever again! Period.

Interesting thread to find. I noticed this about the car since I got it. As a matter of fact, my '04 Maxima did this too but was fixed by an alignment.

I guess it's not the same issue. It's good to see someone got the ball rolling on this.

I would seriously limit my frustration if I were you though, as I know what it's like to deal with Nissan and their Consumer Affairs. Quite the headache.

I've found the car does this most when I'm driving it hard.

However there are so many things I love about my M, I have overlooked the hopping issue. <-- that's what I call it.

Good luck though and keep updated on what happens on this. I've been told they were working on it before and they never fixed a damn thing. Hopefully this is not the case.

I had a problem with my 08 M35x from the day I bought it (brand new). After reading a few posts that indicate the problem may be with the OEM Goodyears. I asked my dealer (Ray Catena in Edison, NJ) to swap the OEM tires for Michelin Primacy. He did that without question and threw in a wheel alignment. 4000 miles later I can say it was the OEM tires. Please note, this may not be a solution for everyone. Some smart *** said that if I wanted to put Michelin Primacy on the car I should have bought a Buick. The Michelins handle great. How many of us do 80 MPH slaloms on the way to work every day??If your issue is not "tramlining" please excuse the above and move forward with other posts.
