hey guys i am really needing some help with this. i just replaced the wheel bearings in the front of my 91 240 i also did tie rods inner and outer and got it aligned. the toe looks to be fine but for some reason the steering isnt behaving properly. at first when i was making right hand turns the car would go from turning at a normal angle to a very extream one when i moved the steering wheel from about a 10 degree angle to a 11 degree this would happen at various points in the steering and seemed dependent on the amount of force on the front drivers side wheel. Now this problem is occuring when going straight as well and is strong enough to move the wheel in my hand but the car will continue to drive straight if i let the wheel move if i hold the steering wheel in place however the car will turn as though the whole rack had shifted a few teeth can any one help me figure this out. cause to me it seems like the wheel bearing may not have been installed right but the shop is telling me that cant be the issue.

Take it back to the alignment shop and tell them to recheck it. Make them show you the numbers before and after the work was done.

i had it aligned when i did the outer tie rods, then when the problem was there i went and got it aligned again at a different place assuming that they may have left something loose but it didnt go away and the toe s about even at .06 and .07 front left and right respectivly and the cameber is even at -1.3 on both sides

Your caster can cause pulling issues also. Unfortunately if you have stock tension rods, there is no adjustment available.

I do alignments on a daily basis and have the time I have to manually adjust the toe because the steering wheel is crooked after the "computerized" alignment.

Either way, the shop that did the work needs to drive the car to verify the complaint and adjust as necessary. Sounds like they drove it on the alignment rack, aligned it, and then gave it back to you without a test drive. There is no way it should have left the shop driving crooked without an explanation.
