Steering noise

I own a 1993 Nissan 240sx. I have put tokico blue shocks, Tein S tech on for shocks/springs. I have been attempting to drift lately. The Steering makes a noticable clunk when I turn abruptly to the right. It sounds as if it coming from the left front tire. It is just a quick thud and then does not come back or in other words its not continuous noise. Its just one quick thud but it makes me very nervous. Please help me figure out what this is. jack up the front and shake the wheel. if you dont hear it then take it off and look for anything loose that could be making the noise. it really could be a lot of things.
