Okey, so I noticed a problem when I drive over a puddle of water during the rain. The roads in my area have some dips going into my neighborhood.

What I have noticed is when I drive over a puddle in the middle of making a turn, my steering wheel locks up like I just lost power steering kind of like trying to steer the car when it is off. I try to avoid any puddles or just go over them slowly so I don't splash the water up. Now it doesn't always do this, only once in a while because I have driven through water puddles numerous times without any issues. I have checked underneath and I do still have splash guards under the wheel well. Not sure why it does this. Has anyone one else encountered this issue? When it does this, some times the belt will start squeeling a bit but only for a second or two. Thanks in advance for the replies!

That means your belt is slipping either because the belt is glazed due to age or it isn't tight enough. When it slips the power steering pump loses power and can't do its job assisting you with the steering. If it hasn't been replaced in a while you may be due for another one, otherwise check the belt deflection. Find the longest straight run of belt and push down on it. It should only go down a half inch or so. If it's starting to crack at all, replace it regardless :chuckle:

Thanks, looks like I have another job to tackle now.
