My 92 active g50 is giving me more grief now. The steering is loose as hell. I can turn the steering wheel 30 degrees and the wheels won't turn right away. Then suddenly they turn to where I want the car to go. I'm suspecting some kind a bushings problem. Also I'm wondering if this is a DIY kinda repair
Thank you for your prompt input

Check the steering rack bushings.
One of mine was almost totally gone! (but didn't have a steering issue as severe as what you describe)
Check that all the linkages are in good order too.

I was able to replace my steering rack bushes myself.

Might go for the polyurethane Z32 bushings from SPL.
