Well I searched around the forum a bit and can't really find the answers I'm looking for so here goes...

Does anyone know if there is a difference between the 2wd and 4wd steering gears on harbodies/pathfinders? I suspect that my steering gear is shot and I'm looking to find a junkyard replacement but I'm having some trouble sourcing one that isn't from a 4wd vehicle. I actually work at a Nissan dealer, so I tried having the parts department use my VIN and find me the answer but apparently not even they know so I'm hoping someone here does.

I'm really trying to get my steering on this truck solid cuz driving on the highway at 65mph throwing the steering wheel left and right just to stay straight is so annoying lol.

I would say they are different between 2wd and 4wd. Do they interchange, I have not seen anyone do it yet.

The drag links are different in design between 2wd and 4wd if I'm not mistaken but as you say I haven't found any difference between the actual gear boxes themselves. Maybe I'll just pick one up and see if I can get to fit and let you guys know.

Come to think of it I did use a power ps box from a 1994 Pathfinder 4x4 in my 1990 2wd Hardbody.
