Okay folks I recently got ahold of a 1990 Nissan HB 4x4 and seem to be having some issues steering above 40 mph it gets too loose.

I need help replacing the powersteering gear on this thing.. anyone done it before? if you have any tips?

On some boxs, there is an adjustment bolt.
This bolt is locked by a nut.
Loosen the nut, tighten the bolt slightly, tighten nut.
Hope this helps.

Set the external adjuster with the steering centered or else it will bind.

Check linkage before messing with the box. I'd also replace the idler arm bushings with bronze versions if you plan on keeping the truck.

Time for a junkyard trip, get a used box that has not been hit and it may help and will be cheap.
