When the weather gets warmer out, my steering column squeaks when it comes down automatically after starting the car. Has anyone else had this and how difficult is it to lubricate?

Thanks!

I have had this same issue, curious to hear about options resolving it.

While in for an unrelated service I had my Infinity dealer look at the squeak mentioned. They are replacing the steering column under warranty, apparently the motor is not servicable independantly. Holy smokes! They are also replacing the drivers seat frame since the seat is starting to rock and shift under accel/decel, and replacing a bent rim to resolve a shimmy. All said, $4k of service and repair.

What warranty are you on for an 06 bumper to bumper warranty to still be good? Or is your sig still showing an older vehicle?

Thanks - I'll take it to the dealer. Your reply reminded me that I've had it in three times while under warranty to fix issues with the steering column not returning to the correct position, so they may cover this as an extended warranty issue. They ended up replacing both a motor and a couple of sensors and fixed those issues.

My warranty is a 3 month, 3K mile from the dealership. Sort of like a short term CPO from the Bob Lamphere group of dealerships in Portland, Oregon. They provide this to all used cars they sell and will sell a car at wholesale if they don't think it will be worth the warranty and customer satisfaction (and bad word of mouth) of used retail for a crappy car.

They will only cover repairs made at their shop from diagnoses at their shop. They haven't turned me away for anything yet and really wasn't expecting the replacement wheel to resolve a shimmy, I figured that would be part of the As-Is clause. It only cost me a $200 deductible for the repair. My last trip in they recharged the AC, free of charge, under the warranty.

Sounds like you found a great dealer. They are few and far between and this is the first I have heard of them from a user, the other 2 best ones are Riverside Infiniti (CA) and Scottsdale Infiniti (AZ). All the best dealers seem to be west coast ones. There are a ton of really shady Infiniti dealers too all across the US, even on the west coast. Not 1 hour from Riverside Infiniti is another one (I think it is in Montclair CA?) that is a pretty terrible one.
