Steering Column rubbing on exhaust (RB20)

Hey, I'm new to the forum, literally just got my 89 s13 like last week, it was another kids project so I'm picking up the pieces. other than rust I'm trouble shooting different things currently I've been trying to figure out why my steering was so hard. turns out the steering column was rubbing on the exhaust where the linkage comes together. its a rb20 swap so i just hoping other people have had the same problem. any info would be dope thanks people!

Depends on which mount kit you used. I had the rubbing problem with mine but only at full lock. I used the Mckinney mounts on my build. Get a grinder and grind down the spot it's hitting. If you go too far just weld the spot back up. Or spend money for a different 02 housing. In the end prob cheaper just get a different turbo and make a new 02 housing that will clear and reach the down pipe.

okay word thanks for the advice. i gotta get up underneath a bit more so i can fully see whats happening grinding may work tho! unfortunately it just snowed up here so i gotta decide when i wanna get soaked crawling around it. gotta love not having a life haha

Just be sure to grind the 02 housing not the steering column lol.
