steering column repair

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Hi all, I have not posted in a while. I have a 08 EX35 with 55K miles on it. I brought to dealer today for a oil change, tire rotation. I also have had this groaning sound when turning off the car and opening door. The dealer said it is some part in the steering column that has been a problem. No re-call but they are fixing it under some special extended warranty for that part. So it is getting fixed now for free! My warranty ran out in January and I did not buy an extended warranty. I am thinking I should do that now. They are also replacing front brake pads and grinding down rotors. I guess 55K miles on front brakes is pretty good. Had the rears done at 35K. So if you have an 08, ask about this steering column problem.
