My carpet looks pretty bad, and Ive tried many different types of carpet cleaners, brushing it down, and vacuuming it up with a wet/dry vac, and nothing seems to do really good.....

Would there be any danger of using a pressure washer with or without steam to clean the carpet, and following it with a wet/dry vacuuming....? Obviously id cover all the nearby electronics and stuff with plastic......

Like with a pressure washer used for decks and exteriors?

Never thought of doing it INSIDE the car, but I do it to the carpet mats all the time. it works really well.

Yeah....... I would spray down some resolve or some other carpet cleaner first, and then go at it.......

The thing is, i dont want too much water getting on the floorpan, which could potentially cause rust.........

That would be a BIG PITA....... No real reasonlable way to do that......

It wouldnt be that bad.... Ive drenched thecarpet with water, and then i put a fan in the car overnight after that........ But i didnt know if the pressure might affect anything.......

There is ONE carpet cleaner that works WONDERS. Not Resolve, not Lysol, not any of those. Go to the grocery store and get a bottle of FOLEX. Its in a tall white spray bottle and worked WONDERS on my 92 Q. It takes no scrubbing or scuffing and works instantly. You spray it, rub it in with your fingers (its perfectly safe), and wipe it off with a fairly dry rag.

I think its about eight bucks.
