Check above the end of my first post. That's how she currently looks. It's primered hot rod grey. Paint will be the last thing I'll do, possibly the end of this year or spring of 2011.

LOL. I'd like to do it now, but I've spent a lot on rims, brake upgrade and other goodies.

It already looks pretty damn good as it is IMO. With those wheels it would be sexy

Thanks.

All I need now are a set of tires. Undecisive of what I want. My s13 is primarily a dd, but I like to take it a track here and then (auto-x). Will see.

Those roll center adjusters won't do anything for performance. It needs a longer shank, not a raised joint.

^Do explain plz.

The reason I got these are: 1. the price was decent and 2. I figured these would give better stability than the stock ones.

The balljoint's pivoting point is still left in the same position, if the shank were lower and the balljoint still attached in the same height as a stock one, the pivot point would be lowered, which is what you want.

Imagine it in your head, the only thing that changes with those balljoints is that you arm looks lower, but the balljoint is left in the same place as before and everything is pretty much the same. Your roll center (which is what you're trying to fix), relies on pivoting points, and the ones you have now just leave them in the same place.

You want something like this:

Getting the balljoints you have now aren't bad though, I'll bet our stock ones are pretty worn out and have a bit of play in them, new parts are always good and getting the proper type of balljoint we want is difficult to find anyways. Moonface makes some I think but they are pretty expensive.

oh, i see. it kind of looks like it has play or is it just me. Anyway, I mainly use my s13 as a dd, but every now and then, I'll take it to a track, just for kicks. Will these suffice? I'd hate to purchase something else; since I'm going 5 lugs.

Yeah, it shouldn't be too bad since you're not going hardcore or anything. :PI'll be doing the same things as you are, daily driving with tracking it only once in a while.

Good luck with the project! Looks good so far!

Update: My project has been coming along really slow due to lack of funds. My priorities come first.
But here are a few things I've done so far. I'm waiting patiently for 3 tires i recently purchased.
Need the rear rotors resurfaced. I have new (f+r) brake hardware and super clean e-brake hardware as well, which i will be reusing.
I'll going with the Z32 aluminum rear uprights. I'll be placing an order for the rear Z32 (S13 Stance Gr+) brackets. Stance has them for $110/pair.

I removed, clean and greased my S14 front bearings. I made sure I used hi-temp wheel bearing grease. Caution was used prying/popping these babies out.

Rims resurfaced. Will probably paint or poder coat them. Not sure yet. It all depends if I'll have the funds for that.

That is all for now.

Good work on re-packing the bearings. You have more balls than me.lol

I'm not sure if this is correct, as far as wheel painting goes, but I heard that you do not want to powdercoat wheels because the heat changes the characteristics of the metals strength. Just something I heard probally worth looking into...it may not matter much unless its on a full track car tho.

Thank you and thanks for the advice. I'll look into that.

lol... it's not hard to remove these small bearings. Just gotta be careful with the small black bearing retainer thingy. Not sure on the actual name of it.

Update: I've been saving a little every paycheck and I finally have everything i need for the Z32 brake upgrade plus 5 lug conversion. Almost everything. Well, I need Z32 rear ball joints, because the S13's will not work/fit the Z32 aluminum uprights.

out with the 4 lug

The swap is not that hard, just time consuming. Once everything is off, the assembly is pretty much easy. I will have to swap Z32 lcas soon.

The rear rotors are in great shape. Just need a turn.
Image

Z32 brackets to make the e-brake system work, I got these off E-bay for $46.00.

I like how this has come out. So far so good. :)

Come Monday, I'll start the front brake upgrade and 5 lug conversion. That'll be much easier.
