Why can't I view a thread about STD (Standard) coilovers. Here's the link: zerothread?id=487502&postid=5532466 . Anyone know why? I really want to know some info on these, some people on zilvia said they're actually pretty good.

Most valving on your average aftermarket coilovers is terrible at best and you'd be hard pressed to find two that exert the same force, per a certain setting. Your adjustments to dampening will more often than not be nonlinear and sketchy. And, of course, there is their propensity of loving to blow, which is what just about most of the popular, trendy coilovers do.

Robbie, if you're not going to corner balance your car, I'd really suggest just getting springs. It'd save you a good amount of cash.

K, well I just seen that these coils are selling on ebay fro 650 shipped when on carshop they range from 1200 to 1500. But with springs wouldn't I also need different struts? I already have kayaba gr-2 struts on the rear but stock on the front. And i'm still iffy about springs because my friend has a acr neon with koni yellows and sportline springs i think and his car rides rough. But guess it's like that with both springs and coilovers.

A spring is part of a coilover Brother, you dont do springs and coilovers.

You can get softer rate springs or progressive so your ride wont be so rough if that is an issue.

Custom valved Konis and cheap Ground Control collars will outperform a majority of the popular coilovers out there for cheaper. But you probably will never need that amount of performance.

Because they look like knockoff junk, and it was posted up by a spammer violating the TOS of the site.

GOOD springs & shocks ALWAYS > cheap coilovers, no matter what the "girl pants krew" tells you.

would crappy springs make the ride less stiff? I got some kyb's a while ago, and I can compress the rear shock by lifting the brake rotor. I mean, its not easy or anything, but I can do it. I'm trying to doubt that the shocks are blown.....

As others have explained it's in the Moved sub-forum, which I should have realized and pointed out when I found the thread.

Sorry.

Yeah I was just referring to it will be a little bit of a rough ride with either lowering springs OR coilovers. lol
