This is on my QR25. I know I've read about it either here, b15sentra.net or thevboard, but today I can't seem to find it. The problem is that whenever I go to neutral to stop, the motor seems to rev 1500 even if I go to neutral where the rpm is lower than that. For example, I'm in 4th, I go to neutral at 15mph which is pretty low for 4th so the rpm is around 1k or so and the motor will deliberately go up to 1500 and stay there for around 5 or 10 secs. The thing is it didn't do that before, ever. I only noticed it today. I know that my motor doesn't go down after 1500 as fast as normal like from 3k down, but the thing is, it goes up. I'm going to the dealer if I don't have any choice. This started like just this weekend.

BTW, it doesn't throw a code and I can drive it normally as in no power loss or anything. I also started seeing loss of MPG on it.

Thanks

i have not heard of this issue and would be tempted to call it normal.

mine does the exact same thing also, it is normal, as long as it does settle down to normal after a few seconds. i attribute this to the temp change around here, it did the same last fall/winter too but it didnt in the summer

Huh. All of thevboard'ers are having the same problem. I'm not sure if it's an actual problem or just something normal since the QR is still new and working out some quirks, but this is annoying, I mean it deliberately goes up to 1500. I know about the slowing down when it goes down, but going back up? I'll go do an idle air learn later and see what happens.

wait, the idle goes down, then up, then down, then up, if it goes back and forth like that then there is a problem, but if its just a little high then drops after a second or two, dont worry about it

It actually goes up and then down. e.t. When I'm driving around, on 4th gear at 40 it'd be at 2300 rpm or so and when I start slowing down to say 10mph the tach would say somewhere 1k and 1200 and then release 4th into neutral, it will deliberately go up to 1500 or 1600 and stay there for 5 secs and go down when it should just go down to idle which is at 700. Everytime when my motor is warm. When it's cold it doesn't do that.

my 92 jumps around quite a bit when idling. some days it'll idle at 1500 and other days at 500, and yet somedays it goes back in forth. I haven't had any other problems with it, so im not to conscerned. If yours is just doing the same thing for the most part i wouldn't worry about it too much, how ever i don't know mechanics and i could be totally wrong

See, the car never did that before and it only started doing that last week. I've had the car for almost 2 years now. It already went through 2 winters and never did it. I'm just concerened that I'm gonna have to unbolt everything I've done and install the stock ones and go to the stealership for repair or something.

Also NISTECH I need you on this one. Thanks

Actually I am worried. My MPG dropped from 29-30 to 23. That's without chaning routes or driving. Some said that it could be a dirty maf. I'm thinking it could be so I'm buying a cleaner later. What do you guys think? And what's a good cleaner?

Fixed it. I don't know what caused it but I fixed it with an Idle Air relearn. Thanks guys.
