Perhaps the good coming from the sharp rise in oil prices will be the revitalization of many of our crumbling inner cities with new light rail systems being built, the return of street cars, bike lanes, and fewer traffic jams. Many other countries have had high gasoline prices and have managed such as Amsterdam, Berlin, Vienna, Prague, Munich Frankfurt to name a few. In any case gasoline dropped $.16 a gallon today with a $2.06 drop in the price of a barrel of oil to $122.24. Perhaps the price at the pump will drop a penny or two tomorrow? It appears the sharp reduction in gasoline demand is having an effect on the market with falling prices. We are luckier now than in the late 70's with odd even rationing and long gas lines. Many here are too young to remember but us old farhts have not forgotten.rn79870 wrote:Now that I've got your attention...
If you're bored at work, a good and funny read found here...
Stay home, read, have sex...Will insane gas prices finally pummel us into evolving? How bad will it get?

If something like that happens, it may be better to just move to one of those countries who have polished their public transportation instead of living with our wonderful government...oopstelcoman wrote:

Agreed - What a joke.ArizonaG35 wrote:Hey Greg, We ARE getting a light rail in Phoenix... If you haven't heard, it's set to begin service in early 2009. I call it the M.M.M (Mass Minority Mover)... I think it's going to be a catastrophe for Phoenix... We got a heluva deal on it, but we probably shouldn't have bought it from this guy!
This thing is going to be such a waste! I bet there will be chickens flopping around in the aisle within 5 years like an old mexican shuttle bus!A Metro Light Rail train is tested along Washington St in east Phoenix.
