This afternoon I reached the point where the plenum and the intake runners are being aligned before the final runner torque down.

I've been taking care of so many little details with this project. The bulk of the time spent has been for me learning how to DIY.

Ok - Changed it last night.. The new synthetic brake is beer color though..Depending on lighting it might continue to photograph dark. :gapteeth: I was holding off till it could get it out of the garage as the rear is in a position where it is too close to the wall to get under it to bleed the rear brakes. So I still need to bleed the rear. The synthetic Differential and Power Steering fluids are purple..

The vacuum pipe to nowhere was stripped, powder coated black, and baked to provide corrosion protection at high temperatures.

The heater hose line comes from Infiniti nickel plated. It was buffed and polished using jewelers Rogue then coated with a high temperature clear ceramic coating and baked according to the heat resistance preparation procedure for prevent tarnishing and added corrosion protection.

Three additional protection layers were added to the knock sensor wiring harness for added heat and wear protection and to prevent interference from varmints.

1) Heat-reflective tape wrap constructed from a thin layer of aluminum foil heat-stable laminated to a texturized glass fiber base fabric.

2) Fire retardant automotive cable conduit.

3) Outer layer in a wrap tape that was originally developed for the military. It is made from a special silicone compound which adheres to itself when wrapped under tension. It won't melt up to 500°F(260°C), has a tensile strength of 600 psi and can insulate up to 8000 Volts while remaining flexible to -60°F (-54°C). Forms a Permanent Air & Water Tight Seal and stretches to 3x's its Length Conforms to Irregular Shapes.

An insulated line carrier was fitted to the knock sensor harness outer cover then secured on the center bolt [picture center].

The largest nylon wiring tie that would fit through the original wiring harness tie down hole was used to secure the harness to the powder coated vacuum line harness bracket [not pictured].

The water pump and water hose thermostat cover and housing in addition to the area between the cylinder heads were all were polished using a Dremel jewelers polishing brush then coated to prevent tarnishing and to provide corrosion resistance.

Here's a pic.. :chuckle:

Sounds like silicone RTV tape, MIL-I-46852C or MIL-I-22444C. Great stuff. Works pretty good on the surface of Mars also.
I like using the orange tape, it makes the V8 look more like a rocket engine. The coil harnesses and MAF harness got a wrap on my engine.

Excellent idea for the coil harness!

Now is the time to address that -- though seriously I don't need any more project scope creep as I'm messing up the supply chain for Wes who is patiently awaiting the delivery my ECU core...LOL

I finished wrapping the injector harness last night. It does make the harness look like the mummified hand of an extraterrestrial space creature..

Maybe our wiring harnesses will last until the next ice age.. LOL
