depending on what you want out of the car? what are your plans for the car?? what kind of power do you want to make? all these are small deciding factors.IWishIHadASkyline wrote:So if im willing to pay 8k, would the 26 be the best way to go?
definitely need to recheck your source on that. they are all straight 6s. basically you get what you pay for. 8k is a very conservative estimate to get the motor in and running, no maintenance, running stockish ~300 hp.IWishIHadASkyline wrote:High horespower, best possible gas mileage. Something that will last me a while. Ive also heard that the 25 is a straight 6 as opposed to the 26's v formation. does this make a difference or is it even true?
damn. impressive.s14 2510’s wrote:I am embarrassed on what I have into my rb26 swap and all my parts. I could have had it in mostly stock with greddy front mount, blitz blow off and n1 exhaust and a few other little things for 10k. It was ok but I didn’t put it in there for 320hp. I am way past what it cost to swap the engine in stock, with all the aftermarket parts that I have for it now. It started with just a few things but then I thought to my self, why stick turbo's, exhaust and a few other thing on it and have something fail when I am beating on it. I have gone through the whole engine and replaced everything that I heard and thought might fail with aftermarket parts. I am glad that I did that I saw copper on one bearing and a few other minor things. I hate to say this too much but it should be reliable at 600hp. With how I have the inside built he said it would be good for 1000hp but I don’t need that much. I just want a quick spool to a 9-10k redline with around 600\650hp max.
