static-like sound in engine

is it normal to have a static-like sound in the engine of a nissan maxima 2002? it sounds like the ones you hear when a tv network signs off (you know, with the horizontal colors and stuff). i'm not sure if i'm just being paranoid since it's the first time i let someone drive my car. it's barely audible but i'm really not sure if it was even there before. it seems the sound is coming from the right side of the engine. any ideas? should i be worried?

do u have a system in ur ar or something..it can be radio static...sounds like a high pitched whirr noise rpm dependant...

It could be the motor mounts making noise. They are liquid filled and do have a tendency to make a noise after a while

I'm pretty sure it's not the radio. The sound's coming from the right side of the engine motor itself (or beside it). In case it is the motor mount, should I be worried? Do I need to bring it to Nissan right away or is there a way for me to check it first or fix it? Thanks guys.
