I have a 09 Rogue S model with factory stereo. I just noticed recently that I am getting static coming from the front passenger door speaker. I rarely turn my music louder then 10 on the dial so I am not sure if the speaker is blown or not? Are speakers covered under warranty? If not I might need to upgrade the speakers to something better. Does the Bose upgrade stereo package in the higher end models have better speakers? Anyone else have this problem?

What cell phone do you use? Is it one of the gsm providers such as t-mobile, att etc? If so then that might be a reason you get static noise. If your speaker is blown then you will barely hear anything on higher volume. For the bose part it was discussed earlier that it is not an easy upgrade. Check this link out for more info:

I am not using a cell phone or do I want to upgrade to the Bose. I just want to know if anyone else has had static coming from their front speakers? I never put my music loud so wondering if I have a bad speaker that can be replaced?

Just wanted to make sure it doesn't interrupt with anything else. Anyway...most likely it's a unit and not the speaker because after replacing stock unit I got the sound a lot better with stock speakers...it was clear and it was loud (but not too loud). In my opinion if you want a better quality sound without static then consider upgrading your unit. Also before you do anything why don't you go to the dealership and let them check the system since it should be covered under warranty.

When my Rogue was brand new (1 year ago) I too experienced what I first thought was static in the front driver side speaker. However, what I discovered was that it was not static from the speakers per say, but rather a slight vibration of the plastic control mechanism that controls the door locks, windows, etc. The vibrations would occur under certain conditions, and were caused by the sound waves from the said speaker. I would need to just touch the plastic control mechanism and the vibrations would stop, only to reappear some other day. This was all resolved after swapping out the front speakers for higher quality ones, and installing them on Dynamat, which dampens many of the rogue ;) sound waves inside the metal door.

Anyway, just sharing my experience. Leo2005 is right though, if you are sure it is static get the dealer to fix it. Good luck!
