I would have thought Texas would have been closer to the top. Every time I go through there, I see them. Georgia does not surprise me. There are certain stretches of I-75 that it's just best to set the cruise control and kick back. If you don't they're gonna get you.

I just drove from NJ to FL through GA and back and this is exactly what I did. Peg it at the posted 70 MPH (which is plenty through such a long drive IMO) and just cruise. In GA I saw Troopers at least once every 10 minutes, and its just over an hour drive through.

Yeah in most cities and states people talk about/learn the locations of speed traps and favorite jelly hangout. In Houston we learn the 3 or 4 spots where we can speed because everywhere else is infested.

Yea +1 same with Louisiana you just end up learning their favorite camping grounds..

If your leaving Baton Rogue and heading to NOLA and speeding. You will get stopped. (its 10x worst during college football season)

Way to go Atlanta! Wait, what?!

I really believe the high number of tickets in GA, FL, and AL are related to the attempt to stop drugs coming up from south FL. I-95 N is always covered with cops. South GA cops are notorious for stopping and searching any vehicle they can get their hands on. How many Wildest Police Videos were filmed in Camden County, GA? I swear there's at least one per episode.

The bottom 6 on the list make sense because they probably have the lowest chance of even seeing a cop.

I once made it from Atlanta to Miami in about 8 hours. All the cops sit on the northbound side.

I've received many Georgia tickets over the years. They don't give many warnings either.

I would have though that Texas would have been top three. But I can say that DFW has earned its spot in the metro list. I live in Plano (Dallas northern burb) and the 5-0 there sure love to hide and hand out tickets. Its crazy to the point that I have seen two motorcycle police standing on the side walk of the street I live off of and clock people, walked out in to the street and wave them down to pull them over, then while those people were pulled over they would grab two more, and write tickets two at a time. At one point two officers had 6 people pulled over at once! On top of all that the State super troopers prowl the tollways 24/7 and show no mercy. I got pulled over for doing 3mph over on the DNT and when I told the trooper that I thought there was a 5mph grace margin he laughed at me and told me that speed limits posted are the LAW and not a suggestion  I am scared to even take my cars out on the weekend becuase most of the officers in the area know me from past encounters. Texas is rough fo sho.

I've been in KY for 5 years now and haven't had any issues so far.

In GA I was constantly getting pulled over it seemed like for a long time. I even got pulled over and almost ticketed for no tag lights one night while going through the city. Henry county police ESPECIALLY had it in for me I believe. It seemed like I could never catch a break with them - never even got a warning(excluding the tag lights).

Now that being said - I do drive a lot more sensibly now, but I started driving more sensibly way before we moved from GA too. It's not like there is a shortage of cops here either - I just think they have better things to do unless you're really being an idiot.

seems like in the good ol' south the fuzz are somewhat less tolerant. I personally have never been pulled over while driving through GA, but between the stories on here and from what Ive heard from friends, cruise control seems like your best friend in that state. On a related note if yall are crusing through texas be sure to buckle up before you even start your vehicle. My brother got pulled over today in a wal-mart parking lot becuase he was putting his seat belt on as he was rolling up the parking lot exit. . . . .Im all for enforcing saftey measures, but this just seems a bit over-zealous imho. I suppose part of it is that in Plano (which is a very safe and crime free city) the police cruising around on patrol dont really have much else to do.

Your brother needs to take that to court because driving on private property does not require one to follow the laws set forth for public roadways by the state and in this particular case the cop was completely in the wrong for giving your brother a ticket as he was not actually breaking the law, only if the property owner chooses to press charges will your brother be truly at fault. This is a ridiculous case of police having nothing better to do but alas I do agree, wear your seat-belt always not just in Texas.

P.S. I'm not trying to start an argument over this just mainly pointing out the heinous crap some of the crap that road warrior cops do when given the opportunity.

Nolimit, I totally agree with you. And knowing my bro he will definantly take this to court. Its just silly that he even have to go through all of the bull corn as a result. Either way its a waste of his time. and I dont mean to sound like I hate police or anything, i totally respect the profession and am glad we have them, but arnt they suppose to serve and protect. Their salaries come from our tax dollars and to me its disrespectful and a disgrace to our citizens that officers are wasting time writing tickets for petty offences when there was clearly no malintent on my brothers behalf. Dallas has so many other more pressing issues i.e. drug trafficking, gang warfare, a high murder rate, etc. that I just feel like our police resources should be used in a more appropriate way. And please do wear seatbelts ALWAYS regardless of state. They save lives and it takes two seconds to put it on.

I've been driving legally since 2001. I'm an aware and attentive driver, but I do tend to make use of my cars' handling and acceleration capabilities. Despite my less than leisurely driving style, I've only had two speeding tickets and one safety ticket. So I'm not surprised to see Utah in the lower middle of the pack. As long as you don't drive like a d!ck, I think you're safe here. That's what I was doing the last time I was stopped.

I am a little surprised to see Maryland that high on the list. With the exception of Harford County, most surrounding county and city cops that I have encountered are very understanding.
