my rb20det starts and dies.

starts up revs to 2 grand and 3 seconds later it dies. If i get on the gas pedal it dies out faster and it is not even noticeable that i'm pushing on the gas.

what could the problem be??

did you check the Mass airflow? Does it eventually start up and settles? do you have the check engine light hooked? Check the gasket around the fuel pump housing, if it's kinked then the tank won't hold pressure, or maybe there is another vaccume leak. was is running fine then this happened or u just swaped the thing in?

my guesses would be extreme vacuum leak, MAF, or fuel pressure(pump may be priming the lines but cannot sustain the pressure to run the engine). I'd start by un plugging the maf, and if there is no change, check wiring, then voltage. second, when it does start, check how much vac it pulls while idleing. Then check fuel pressure. you can get a vac gauge and a fuel pressure tester at any auto parts store cheap. if that dont work, post back! good luck!

my mafs is good i know for sure..

i did find a vac leak.. i have a vac leak in the break booster hose but its not a big leak. I"m replacing the hose but i hardlyl doubt it will fix the problem.

yo guys..

ok today i replace my leaking break booster hose but that did not fix the problems they are still there..

my idle is super god high and the idle will not drop no matter what i do..

the only time my idle drops is if i move the cam angle sensor but if i do that then its out of the timing spec of 15 before.

and i still have to use starting fluid to get my car started and running intill warm up.. once my engine temp warms up i do not need the starting fluid anymore to start and keep running.

oh yeah and my boost gauge it reads like 12 vac at my rough idle high.

then it's maybe your air control valve which closes for faster worm up, something like a automatic choke. I don't know where it is on an RB but it got to have one.

When you say high idle what RPM?

I have mine set for 1200rpm, Which is high from the 800rpm stock. But My car doesn't bog and runs 5x better.
