I have a 93' 300zx that my father used to drive, after that he kept it stored in the garage for around 15 years and hasn't moved it since. he handed over the car to me last week and i want to see what i need to do to get it back up and running again.

change engine oil, change the gas obviously

if you plan to actually drive the car, go ahead and do the 120K service and coolant change and that's it

so expect to spend at least 1K getting it running again

Don't forget to check over all and I mean ALL of the rubber bushings as well as ball joints both for movement (proper operation) and rot.

Yeah basically anything rubber is gonna be rotted if it wasn't in a climate controlled facility.

I am doing the same thing - car has been sitting for 17 years in a fully covered outdoor garage.
Fuel tank was so rusty it had to be replaced. On a 2 seater, this meant dropping whole subframe but there's no option. Open your fuel tank from where the fuel pump sits and have a good look inside. Not only was the tank rusty, fuel was bright red and sickly sweet in smell.
I got a new tank with pump for $250Aus. Dollars.
Cooling system will need new hoses and possibly new thermostat. Do a 120k timing belt service as soon as possible/practical.

In the long run, patience and care. Mine ran for 30min yesterday and purred. Now I'll pull it apart and do the servicing I have recommended!
Best wishes for a great project!
