hi,

Im having some troubles getting my CA18det to run after a shortage during the RB20 maf install.Actually the RB20 afm was allready installed and working well before the shortage. But i unplugged the wires by accident while checking the airfilter hoses, seeing as these wires werent soldered or nothing :S i had no idea where to plug em back in.As this maf whas already installed when i bought the car.

So i plugged em wrong which caused the shortage.I looked at the diagrams and im certain its the right connection now.The shortage caused noticable burns on the earth wire to the chassis bolt.

I diagnosed the following:the spark plugs work fine and the car has enough fuel pressure + the fuses all seem fine.

Also everything worked fine before the shortage

I also installed a z32 fuel filter instead of the stock filter. After that i went straight to work on the maf sensor which caused the shortage. The fuel filter probobly doesnt have anything to do with it but i thought id mention it anyway

Maybe i destroyed the maf sensor with the shortage?(shouldnt the car start without the maf?)

Or maybe ecu, seeing as these wires go straight to the ecu in my understanding. If so, how can i diagnose that the ecu is broken?I dont really know where to start from here This problem is f'd.

All help is appreciated!

It sounds to me like you either fried the ECU or the MAFS.

The ECU won't know that the MAFS is bad until the car actually starts sometimes.
