Starting the car while its running?

Hi. Yesterday Ive put the ignition key on the starter position while it was running. Then ive heard the grinding. My car is a 92 240sx with 131K and this is the first time it happened on this car. So what could b the future trouble when this happens?? just curious

Lol its not horrible but if its an everyday thing u could burn up your starter...and it might aslo caus an asswhopping from your friends

but yeah the grind is from the starter trying to grab the ring gear on the flywheel

your flywheel should be fine

For future reference, don't do that anymore.

A little teeth gnashing won't hurt either your flywheel or starter.... once.

Hell thats happend to me more than once in our Luminas. Damn cars are so quite I didnt know they were running.
