Has any of you guys ever or is it even possible to start the SR (just for testing purposes!!!!) without actually doing the "wiring service" ? What I mean by wiring service is extending, rewiring, etc.... and then just plugging it into the ECU. I just wanna know because I will be doing my swap real soon and wanted to see if the motor will start. I'm not gonna drive it anywhere, just start it. Basically, I just wanna know if I can plug it in and start it with a trigger switch?

No, it's not possible. The wiring by the battery area controls fuel pump, idle control, O2, ECU power, etc. If it's S13 SR to S13, it's easy, follow HT website.

i talk to a guy just a couple of days ago online that did the same thing you are asking (or so he says). I also read in a magazine that it is posible. Im going to try this myself for testing purposes.

If you buy a front clip and start it in the clip....The 240s wiring is only a tad bit different, but enough that it won't start..

It is extremely easy to start your motor if you buy a front clip. Just hook up a fuel pump and crank it up. I ran mine when I went to buy it. If you just buy a motor swap, You would spend an awful lot of time trying to do it.

no no no, i mean installing the SR and plugging the SR harness in. yes the ECU will be in the wrong place but it should still run right? This would be just so you can check to make sure that everything on the engine works good (because in alot of swaps wiring is a big problem, and its better to eliminated the posiblilty of bad wiring when testing the SR)

The fuse box and relays under the hood are wired differently. You simply can't just plug it in. The ECU will get wrong signals, if it even gets power. It WILL NOT start. You don't just plug the motor into the ECU, there are very important relays fuses in between that are part of the car. That is the reason why there is a 'wire service'. If you could just plug it in, why would anyone get the service done, or re-wire it themselves?

If you want to run it in your car you will have to rewire it. Yes the ecu would have power, but many things like your fuel pump relay etc. will not have power because the pinout on the connectors is different(the one behind the battery box.
