Starting PROBLEMS

Hello well this morning i was trying to start my truck and it started up then started to spurt and it shut off. I tried again and nothing just cranked.... and cranked. I got back from work just hoping it will start. Nope that didn't happen so i went and replaced the fuel filter i know the fuel pump works cause when I turn the key u hear it but when i would try to start it the starter made a funny noise so i hit it.

So after me fighting for about an hr i put in some starter fluid and had my buddy try to start it up. Well it did and i drove it for about 30min got home parked it and went to turn it back up same issue just cranks and cranks.

I have read it could be the throttle body thats dirty my envoy would lose power. But this is driving me up a wall. It has spark,fuel and pump is working ... Wth can it be please someone point me to the right location.

Well after cleaning the throttle body out same issue wont start. Another buddy of mine came out and he said its the disty that is faulty. Well the previous owner put in a new one not even 8 month ago. Are these disty known to go bad. I had a probe gt and 626 and they where known to be a pain in the a**. So someone came with a fix a external MDS ignition coil $45 repair instead of $530.

Good thing his a automotive electrician so he will figure it out. I will post back when i get it back running if he does a mod
