Starting problems...

I have a 1996 240sx se. I bought the car to use as a project. I plan on swapping the KA24DE for an RB26DETT later down the road, but I am trying to get everything I can from the factory KA.The Problem:When I try to turn it over, it drags heavily every time it tries to start. Even with a brand new battery it does this. It starts eventually, but it takes a heavy hit on the battery. Any insight would be helpful.

Meaning it turns over slowly?

Sounds like you need a new starter.

Problem fixed. Changed the starter. I didn't think it was the starter since it is turning over. Thanks for the help
