starting problems after oil change( I DONT KNOW WHATS GOING ON!!)

i started to have problems with my 1990 ka24d 2 days ago i just did an oil change to my 240 and replace the air filter with a k&n and since then my car has a lot of trouble when i tried to turn it on it cranks forever ! i have to give it at least 7 tries to the point that i even get afraid my battery will die then when it turns on it revs at really low rpm till it gets normal then it doesnt have any problems it it drives nice and it idles perfect when i went to the autonzone( the zone) my friend helped me to picked the oil filter i dont know but will a 240 do that? if the oil filter is the wrong? what could the problem be? i've never had a problem like this before please if you guys can help me....

I would be more suspicious of the new air filter. Why not put back the original air filter, housing, and hook up all the hoses ... and see how that turns out?

actually the k&N filter was juts a stock one, everything is stock all the housing hoses everything, what do you think it could be?? that totally threw me off dude i have no clue

the same happened to me this past summer we traced the problem to be the fuel pump relay (Green) and we also change the coolant temperature sensor now it starts just fine

really??? is that relay located behind the battery in the small black box?

Take a look around the oil filter and make sure you didn't knock a vacuum hose loose somewhere. Also check the one that connects from the rear of the valve cover to the bottom of the air filter assembly.

k what? did you mean to hit e? Think back to all the different things you touched when you installed them parts. Now go back to all those areas and look for disconnected or dry rotted vacume hoses.
