Starting Problem with EX35

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Its been cold here in Canada ,so i thought its not a big deal that my car isnt staring so well. All the Time it starts fine but once in a while it makes problems like, you press the Start Button an the car needs a minute to start.

So,went to Infinity and had it checked out . They put a Diagnostic Computer on the Battery and after 2 ! Hours the system said "replace Battery".The Service Team orderd a Battery for the next Day and as i came in they "just" got the call that Batterys are on Back order . mmmmhh, wtf! So,i get a new Battery from one of there Showroom models.

That was on Monday. Today on Thursday i have the same Problem with a brand new Battery in Place. I'm so p....d! .

has anyone heard of any Problems regarding the Battery with the Ex ?

any advises for me ?

thanks guy's

My first battery died in the parking lot as I was buying the car...they replaced it and it has been fine since.

I will say I have however had my foot ont he brake and hit the button and it just rolls over to Acc instead of starting. I've had to press and hold the brake again and give it another shot and it's fired right up.

This has only happened 2-3 times.

I've had no issues in our 10 degree weather with it starting right up the first time.

My advice is to do the following:1. put your foot on the brake2. press the Start button, then release it as soon as the car starts turning over, while still pressing the brake3. make sure you keep your foot on the brake until the car starts

I've found that if you take your foot off the brake too soon, it's as if the engine doesn't get enough gas, especially when it's cold out.

Don't have to be in Canada's cold to have problems starting an EX. Today, at a beautiful 67 degree weather, the car won't start. First time I experienced this. I tried to start it for 15 minutes but no to no avail. Pressing start/stop button, foot on the brake pedal, the seat moves forward, but no cranking. Then the instrument panel all lits up, navigation come up, and finally the seat moves back as though you are turning the car off and lights go out. All without a single crank. I tried different combinations of holding start/stop button all the time, letting go in between and push again, locking the car and trying again after 5 and 10 minutes, but nothing worked. I tried to start it by inserting the key in that slot or using my other key, but nothing worked. I called the dealer and they asked me to tow it in. The tow truck guy came and tried giving me a jump start, but no luck either. He started to prepare for the tow, I said to myself let me try one more time. This time, the engine miraculously started. I drove it immediatley to the dealer and asked them to check it out. They came back and said they couldn't find anything wrong with the car. No fault codes and the battery was ok. That's great, now I have to worry about getting stuck on the road on top of the other problems that dealer can't address. Just great!

Ekk....doesnt sound like you are having much luck with your car.

Possible a park sensor is on the fritz....might be tied into your OD issue as well if something in the electronic transmission computer is going out.
