I've got a starting problem with a 90 model ka24e. Yesterday I cleaned out the throttle body with throttle body cleaner then took it for a little test drive and to get gas. It was on empty. A couple of days ago I noticed some hestitation so I thought the plate might just be sticking a little. On start up there was a little wait and some stumbling which usually happens until the cleaner is burnt off then it ran just fine. I never push it hard and was going about 45 when it just conks out. I figured it was the gas so I walked to a nearby station and got gas. Filled it and still no start. It was on a little incline so I though maybe it wasn't enough gas to the pickup to reach so I got another 4 gallons. Still no start. It turns over fine but just won't fire. I did check to see if gas was getting to it and gas was fine as far up as through the filter. It's not a pump problem. I also checked fuses at the box and switched two of them thinking it might be a faulty one to the coil but that didn't fix it. I don't think it's ecu either. Also checked the timing chain and it's not loose so I don't think it jumped time. The coil itself is less than a year old. What's left??? I'm thinking distributor gear maybe? Does the sohc have a crank sensor and would that cause it? Car is a dd so I really need to get it going again. Any help appreciated!!
