1990 240SX - sometimes when trying to start - just get a click on the starter.Starter has been replaced and have a new battery. Usually happens when the car is hot and been started a few times in a couple of hours. Problem seems to go away in the winter months and reoccurs in the summer.

Any ideas what is happening - replaced starter 3 times already

Go to the 240sx.org site and pull up the FAQ page. There is something there regarding a starter pulling too many amps and having this same issue. Maybe that will help??? Good Luck!

You have heat soak. The solenoid on the starter can get too hot and stops working

You still have a starter problem and if you are using aftermarket supplier it make take quit a few starters to get a good one. I hate to say it but the factory starters are the most reliable but cost a lot more.
