Hi, I have complete the maintenance for my max. but now have another problem.

when starting from cold it starts after the third try. I check th fuel presure line and it is ok, but when turning off the engine it starts to drop, maybe in 10 minutes it will be totally down. so I think that that is the cause of my starting problem, but don't know what to replace or fix. not sure if there is check valve to replace.

any ideas?

Thanks

Problem is most likely due to a bad fuel pressure regulator. I'm assuming that you have a fuel pressure gauge connected downstream of the fuel filter. To verify, do the following:-set Ignition to ON (do not start) and check fuel pressure is @ 43 PSI (pump will automatically shutdown after 5 secs if Ignition is left in the ON position)-Start the engine - at Idle the fuel pressure is @ 34 PSI.-Turn OFF the engine - -fuel pressure drops to @ 30 PSI and should remain steady for several minutes. Then it will drop further to 20 PSI or less.

If the fuel pressure drop[s immediately after turning off the engine, the leak-down is bad and the regulator needs to be replaced.

BTW, some starting issues can be attributed to poor grounding. Make sure your engine ground points are clean and secure. Use a dielectric grease after cleaning the ground connections. The ground wires are usually from the main engine harness with the ground points close to the intake plenum.
