starting problem

i got my 240 running then took it for a drive found a gas leak on the o-ring of the fuel pump fixed it. drove it agin ran like **** then it got realy hot so drove it home nd as i was pulling n 2 the garage it died on me nd hasnt stared since. replaced fuel fillter still nothing. any ideal's guy's

if its over heating then your problem has nothing to do with fuel delivery.. maybe head gasket or something.. that would explain running like **** and over heating .

the head gasket is gud just replaced it. im thinking the thermastat on the getting hot part. that still doesnt explain why its not starting. do u think it could b my autozone starter? plus i have removed all the emission stuff. dont know if that helps.

did it ever run right after removing the emissions stuff? so what your saying is that the starter isnt coming on at all? yeah overheating could be thermostat, thats probably the best place to start, could you be more specific about how its running and what it does when you try to start it.

and whats this about some o ring on the fuel pump?

Yup it could be so many things! If it is overheating check your thermostat, flush your rad and add some fresh coolant..

if your getting power to the starter than check the crank sensor and dont touch the ****in emission stuff you could plug your cat

when i posted this fourm is when i got it running. it was running roughafter i got it going. it wouldnt idale good at all,but after a couple of min it would idle ok. i just tryed 2 start it agin nd it cranks 4 a half a sec then the starter just spins.

If it starts to crank then stops you may need to shim the starter. I do not see any reason for it to not contact the flywheel after 4.5 seconds or at all. If it is a manual try to " pop "the clutch to bypass the starter all togather. Make sure you are getting fuel to the engine, Also check all the emission stuff you removed, some of reqiurs vacuum, which runs to the engine, you maybe depriving the engine if you did not block anything off. Check for vacuum leaks.
