this sounds kinda simular to the guys problem below, but i figured different car, maybe different problem, i got a 1990 240sx hatchback and basically whats happening is about 5 hours ago it started then i try the stereo, it lights up and has the frequency but no sound speakers were working fine a little while ago whats up with this. so then i shut off the car go eat for 20mins. and get back in, try the start it the same way as usually all that i hear is a click but not turning, hmm... all the lights are on even the stereo, so i had to pushstart it, it started drove it home to try and see if it might start, nope, just clicking the batterie works cause all the lights and my headlights work, so i dunno, could it possibly be the ground since its affecting the speakers also, or what are your guys' comments on this?

edit: and oh yea before i left to eat it took about 5 clicks for it to finnally start, and seemed to take alot of turning for it to start maybe about 2 seconds of flat out turning... i dunno if that helps, to me seems like somehthing electrical but then agian i'm no electrician or mechanic so i need help...

ive had a lot of starting issues.. first for me it was the battery, then the starter, and the nuetral safety release...

First, its obviosly not the battery since everything else turns on..

Second.. since you hear a clicking, the means its your starter.. take a hammer or screw driver and kind of hit your starter with it.. not too light, but not too hard, try hitting it a few times, and then try turning it on.. do this a few times unless it turns on after the first few hits...

if it starts up after hitting it.. you need a new starter

let me know how that goes..

a mechanic found the problem it was the clutch interlock, basically the starter relay wasn't sending enough power to the starter the initiate it.
