I bought a 2000 infiniti g20. Prior to purchase, I had a full mechanical check-up. There were a couple of oil leak recommendation. Nothing that bad. However, the very next day, the car stopped starting. Only thing I had done after getting the car was a few miles and filling the gas. I took it to the same technician who did the mechanical check-up. He diagnosed it to be a problem with starter. That didnt solve the problem. He changed the fuel pump then (he was not getting fuel). But that too didnt solve it. Finally after a lot of diagnosis he figured that the injectors wont spray and are not getting grounded to open up. He has checked all possible electrical stuff and found nothing wrong. Now he thinks that it might be a problem with the ecu not sending the correct command and so recommends a new ecu. I am at a COMPLETE FIX! PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

Obviously the mechanic you chose for the inspection was not an expert technican on G20.Why not tow it to a Infiniti dealership so they can resolve the matter without guessing this and that .

On a 7 year old car, starter or fuel pump failure is rare. ECU failure is next to unheard of unless someone shorts and send the wrong voltages to ecu.

Dennis is right. Stop the guessing game and have it towed to nearby Peninsula Infiniti in Redwood City.

when you say its not starting, does the motor crank fine but not fire, or does the motor not crank at all (IE the starter doesnt do anything)...

Your mechanic sounds challenged outside of turning wrenches so I would leave the diagnosis to someone who knows what theyre talking about and leave the dirty work for him.
