Hey guys, I have a KADE that has recently had some strange staring problems. When the motors cold it seems to start ok, but after it gets hot, it sometimes has a difficult time starting, but not every time. It's weird cause it seems to crank ok, but it wont fire up like normal. Sometimes it takes a while of cranking. If I let it crank for like 4 seconds and let go, it seems like it almost wants to start but stalls.

I tested the battery with a multimeter and it's reading 12.8v, so that's ok. Also, once started it runs fine, it revs normal without any hesitation, which makes me think it's not an air/fuel/spark problem?

Could a starter be going bad but still sound like it's cranking ok? Any advice would be great! Thanks!

You said it wants to start when you start to let off the key? Sounds like an Ignition switch going out.

You know now that you mention it, sometimes when I go to start it it makes a "errnn" noise, like a solenoid but nothing happens (no cranking). But then I try it again and it starts usually.... does that sound familiar?

mmm usually when you hear the starter spin but not crank the motor that is your starter solenoid going bad. ignition switch symptoms are rather you can crank the car over and over and over and as soon as you let go of the key it tries to start.(that would be the wire that powers your ecu not getting power while cranking) or you try to start it and get nothing ...everything else works, but wont crank the starter and you can start the car by "jumping" the starter solenoid. that would be the starter wire when cranking is not getting power.....you might have more than one issue here.

Thanks for the input. If it continues ill try replacing the switch and report back if that doesn't solve it!
