starting problem 1995 altima gxe

My 95 altima gives me problems starting (just intermitent, mostly on hot days). when I turn the key nothing happens except you can hear the fuel pump kick in. Each time I turn the key (either quick or slow) the power to the radio goes on/off. Sometimes it will take 2-3 turns, sometimes 5-10 minutes. I have ckecked everything that I know of excluding replacing the ignition switch ($180). The car runs great (knock on wood) for 209,000 miles on it. Any suggestions on what it may be? I have check everything from battery to crank sensor to stater wires, to cables, etc.
